The Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus RFT is a touring all season run flat tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire promotes great all weather traction. Its special all season tire compound and symmetric tread design increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The tread elements, with the higher number of sipes, firmly grips the road surface in all conditions, while the tire compound keeps its flexible traction throughout the year. The tread’s circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. The improved traction and hydroplaning resistance ensure a secure year round performance.
The model was manufactured with the run flat technology. Its stronger internal structure is capable of withstanding the weight of the vehicle and its passengers for a limited period after air pressure loss. The tire can be driven on after air pressure loss for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. In this manner, the driver will not be stranded on the side of the road after a puncture, rather they can drive to a near location to change or fix the tire. The Ecopia H/L 422 Plus RFT was manufactured with a tire compound that lowers the tire’s rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the force affecting the model that determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. The reduced rolling resistance, in turn, decreases the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making the tire more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. The reduced rolling resistance also manages to slow the tread wear rate down. This, along with the prevention of irregular tread wear formations and the evenly distributed driving pressure, significantly lengthens the tread life and the tire’s usability.
